Read Luke 5 and Isaiah 58 – what similarities do you see?
List the encounters of people with Jesus in this chapter and how they challenge popular perceptions – then and now?
What is Peter’s response to Jesus’ presence? Does this remind you of other people’s encounters with God’s glory? What does this tell you about Peter’s perception of Jesus?
How do Jesus’ actions challenge the way you see the world? How do you think Jesus’ encounters challenge the values of the world today – religious and irreligious?
