Adult Sunday School Spring 2012

“Discipleship Dutch Brother’s Style”
(Open to all ages)
Teacher:  Jeff Harris

Practicing the art of sharing our spiritual life with others!  This is an interactive class, not a lecture.  Come ready to practice asking questions and listening, opening the Word and discussing it with others, and opening your life and praying.  This will mostly be done through small groups and one-on-one conversations.

“The Grand Narrative”
(Open to all ages)
Teacher: Jason Pittman

Join our class and take a chronological journey through the Scriptures exploring God’s story of redemption from Genesis to Revelation.  The purpose of this class is to help us know the Lord, to understand the ‘big picture” of His redemptive purposes, to study the major themes and developments within biblical history, and to further grow in our understanding of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

“Finished by the Master Craftsman:  How God Uses Spiritual Disciplines to Sanctify His Children”
Koinonia Class (50 + years of age)*
Teacher:  Chuck Henderer

Each “discipline” could be seen as a tool, not that WE use to make us more holy, but that the Holy Spirit uses UPON us, to make us holy.  The “means” of spiritual growth in holiness is not the disciplines but God’s grace and power in the Holy Spirit.  The disciplines help us expose ourselves to God’s work by drawing us closer to Christ in faith.  We see Him and are changed by Him.

“James:  Practical Christian Living”  Study of the Book of James
Prime Timer Class (50 + years of age)*
Teacher:  Steve Ferrier

There is probably no book in the Bible that challenges us to deeper practical discipleship than the book of James.  Written by the single Christian writer who knew our Lord throughout His entire life, James brings a unique perspective to the task of daily Christian living.  As we discuss James’s writings, we will try to understand what the Lord Jesus has for us to learn by the Spirit through the viewpoint and writings of His own brother.

*These classes are designed to primarily connect people in this age group; however, they always welcome anyone interested in the class.
