5/23 Pentecost: Morning worship of Celebration, Confession and Commitment.
Purpose: No revival begins without prayer. Our church has both blessings and giftedness for which to give thanks, and issues for which there need to be repentant. We must actively pray through these together before the Lord.
A Solemn Assembly is a prepared and dedicated moment, day, or season to come together to pray as a church. This is about our heart relationship with the Lord: the ‘being’ before the ‘doing.’ We will have the following categories of worship.
- CELEBRATION: Remember the blessings before the Lord with thanksgiving. The Joy comes first. We begin with His goodness.
- CONFESSION: Repent of personal and corporate sin. We must live a repentant lifestyle. We lament for loss and humble ourselves before Him.
- COMMITMENT: Recommitment to the mission and vision of the church and prayer for blessings as we go forward as a church. A fresh start and commitment to connect in new ways to each other and the world for the Gospel.
“True confession of God’s faithfulness and our unfaithfulness leads to new commitment.”
