Next Generation Ministries: A Report for the FBC Family
led by Kathy Ferrier
After a summer filled with fun events and activities, including High Power Sports Camp, All Church Pool Party & BBQ, Summer Breakfasts, Potlucks at the Scout Cabin and a Baptism in the Mary’s River at Avery Park, it is time to return to our Fall Children’s Activities. We kicked off Sunday School Classes on September 9th and are pleased to report that our attendance has nearly doubled since Fall 2017! Thank you Lord! God has also blessed us with plenty of teachers and volunteers. We have started a new year of Awana Club on Wednesday nights and it is beginning well with plenty of kids and volunteers. Thank you all for your prayers and support for Children’s MInistry! God is at work and blessing our children and families.

Over the summer, the Lord has stretched open the eyes and hearts of some of our key core students as they ventured to Mexico and stepped up to lead their campus Bible club. This fall, we’ve added Luis Gonzales and a few college students to our leader team. We are using Discovery Bible study and Alpha Youth Series to help us bring the kingdom to the unchurched youth around us. Dare2Share Live, October 13th will introduce, inspire, and equip scores of students from Corvallis, Willamette Valley and beyond to the Gospel and their privilege of sharing it. As we partner with the Chinese church, Impact (our Friday night ministry) reaches children of visiting professors and friends who want to connect with us and investigate Jesus. Our youth intern, Will Richmond is heading up our Sunday School program covering the topics of God’s Design for our lives according to our gender and our interaction with each other in family, church and life. Thanks for praying for Jesus to connect the next generation to Him.

Lots of changes came this year, as we sent out some great college ministry leaders and interns like Chase Bains, Estany Campbell, and Joe and Kristin Master to impact Christ’s kingdom all over the northwest. But the next group of leaders has sparked to life with hard work recruiting and planning an exciting year of ministry in Bible studies, retreats, fellowships, and events. You will see many college aged musicians participating in worship this fall. Be friendly and introduce yourself to them. Another new venture for us is having Jeff Harris and Pastor Russ teaming up to lead the Next Level Sunday School class in the fireside room. Our hope is to connect the new, OSU, and homegrown students together in a fellowship that knows and encourages each other in the faith. So far so good. We had 14 the first Sunday and we packed out College lunch. Thanks for your prayers and support!
